Patient Concerns:
Weak chin, round face, weak jaw line.
Surgical Goal:
To increase height, width, and projection of the chin. The overall goal was to increase the proportions of the lower 1/3 of the face and create harmony and balance of the face, and create a more attractive appearance.
Surgical Notes:
This patient already had orthodontia (braces), with acceptable occlusion (the teeth come together properly). Examination revealed a short lower jaw, and an underdeveloped chin. The patient had a small to moderate fat pad or the neck, but declined liposuction at this time.
