Patient Concerns:
Upper lip is too long after a rhinoplasty (nose reshaping procedure) and lip lengthening procedure performed elsewhere. The other concern was that the vermilion (pink part of the lip) drooped. The patient tried fillers to correct the cosmetic deformity, but was not satisfied.

Surgical Goal:
The goals were to reduce the length of the upper lip, re-suspend the upper lip, elevate the drooping vermilion, and minimize visible scars.

Surgical Notes:
A central lip lift was performed to correct the concerns. The lift included removal of excess skin, removal of a small amount of muscle (orbicularis oris) under the nose, and re-suspension of the upper lip. The scar was placed at the base of the nose and inside the nostrils where it will be well concealed after healing.

Time Since Surgery:
5 weeks

Patient Testimonial:
"This is so great! Now that my lips are beautiful, I can't wait to get my chin augmentation."

Age: 27

Height: 5'9

Weight 137 lbs

This patient requires a chin augmentation to create harmony and balance in the lower 1/3 of the face. This can be best appreciated in the side view (view # 3).
